The Stereotypes
The Stereotypes are a TTBB (all tenor and bass) a cappella group from Washington University in St. Louis.
Founded in 2001 as a fresh take on “stereotypical” a cappella, we sing music from genres ranging from pop and rock to indie and jazz (and some originals)!
Our songs are arranged entirely by members of the group, both past and present. We approach each performance with the goal of engaging our audience and having fun with the people we love singing with!

About Us
Our most important annual Fall concert, “Mr. Stereotype,” is unlike any other acappella show to grace WashU’s campus. You want singing? Well of course! You want dancing? We certainly try! But most of all, Mr. Stereotype is where each of us dress up and compete in WashU’s only ever acappella beauty pageant!
Will Mr. Flamin Hot roast the competition and end up in the hall of flame? Will Mr. Green Thumb leaf everyone else behind? Perhaps Mr. Chimneysweep will clean up whatever is left? The audience gets to decide which of us gets to claim the prestigious title of Mr. Stereotype and all the associated bragging rights for the next year!
